Watch the Florida Panthers battle the Minnesota Wild (0-1-2) in their fourth home game of the season at the BB&T Center in Sunrise on October 19 at 7 p.m. After last year's NHL lockout and finishing with the lowest points in the league last season, the Panthers (1-2-0) are kickstarting the 2013-14 season. Hoping to get another taste of the playoffs or perhaps even more, the Florida Panthers are hungrier than ever. The team has made the playoffs only once in the past five seasons, but maybe that will change after being sold last month to New York businessman and philanthropist Vincent Viola for a cool $240 million. Viola, who leads Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, is a West Point graduate and former Army Ranger. This is not his first rodeo; he's been linked to the purchasing of the New Jersey Nets back in 2009. With Viola's financial clout, the Panthers could be a competitive team in the coming seasons. Looking for something to do on Saturday night without spending too much dough? Or perhaps you want to be a little spendy. Tickets start from $10.50 for 400-section seats to $270.75 for goal-line seats. The BB&T Center is located at 1 Panther Parkway in Sunrise. Call 954-835-8000.
