Things To Do

The Band in Heaven's Five Songs of Summer

It's been a while since we last caught up with West Palm Beach psych rockers the Band in Heaven. With a full-length album, Caught in a Summer Swell, due out September 17, a dreamy, Ray Bradbury-inspired single, "Dandelion Wine," getting buzz all over the internet, and a tripped out new music video to go with it, all signs point to big things happening.

Topping the bill with dark synth pop outfit Cold Cave and Miami's Jacuzzi Boys, the Band in Heaven will perform at Respectable Street's 26th Anniversary Block Party next Saturday, August 24. The free block party features a total 26 bands across four stages, an open bar from 8 to 9 p.m., free pizza, and ping pong -- a proper doozy to close out this steamy summer.

To whet all of your appetites 'til next week rolls around, we asked Ates, Lauren, Ryan B., Jay, and Ryan S. of the Band in Heaven to share their favorite tracks of the summer. Check them out and prepare for a little booty-clapping. Clearly, the Band have been doing a lot of dancing this summer.
