Did New Times Cover Inspire Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Album Art?

See for yourself. On the right, that's the cover of the story I wrote in August 2009 about zoophiles -- people who love and have sexual intercourse with animals.

Now

compare it with the image below, which goes with a single, "Round and

Round," by Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, a Los Angeles psychedelic pop

outfit. That single was released in March 2010, according to the band's Wikipedia page.

Quite

a coincidence, isn't it? And remember, that same New Times cover has

already inspired a painting by an Italian artist. Except in that case

the artist credited our paper for giving him the idea.

Oh well. It's good tune, at least, earning Best New Music honors from Pitchfork.
