Don't get it twisted; County Grind loves giving away free concert tickets. But isn't it more fun for everyone involved if there's a little bit of work put forth?
This week, we've got a pair of two-day passes to the Langerado Festival up for grabs. The fest is taking over Markham Park in Sunrise October 8 and 9 and boasts headliners Death Cab for Cutie, Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper, Ween, and Thievery Corporation -- as well as a ton of roots, indie-rock, hip-hop, and electronic acts for all comers. Currently these are selling for $150/per pass, so the winner will get a prize.
Obviously, you love the bands, and so you know plenty of songs by heart. And so our little challenge should be no challenge at all.
To be eligible: Film a video of yourself
performing your favorite song by a Langerado artist (all of them are listed here), upload it to YouTube or another video streaming site, and post the link to our
County Grind Facebook page by noon ET on Friday, July 29 August 5.
At that time, we will review all of the entries and choose the one that is the most entertaining and creative. So, if you can't sing, you better make it look impressive. We will announce the winning entry later in the day on Friday, August 5.
Just to give you an idea, here is an young lass covering the Arctic Monkeys' "When the Sun Goes Down."
If you decide to cover Das Racist's "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell," we will buy you an entrée of your choice from Taco Bell even if you don't win.
Again, the contest ends Friday, July 29 August 5, at noon, so get on it!
