Week 16 marked an extremely depressing end to an abysmal Dolphins season. Realizing the severity of the situation, I found it fitting to absorb the season finale at Jesse's Xtreme Sports Bar; you'll recognize the sign by the little cartoon guy wearing a backward black cap being all extreme. Besides the silly name — and Jesse's poor spelling — this sports bar, which is dedicated to X Games-type athletics, is decked out with hanging surfboards, snowboards, and skateboards. But don't shy away just because you're more likely to channel-surf than you are to windsurf. Most of Jesse's patrons probably don't know the difference between a whirlybird and a Tweety bird (they're wakeboarding maneuvers, in case you're wondering). Never mind the groovy West Coast beach-bar vibe; Jesse's is still a cool place to enjoy the game. The oak wood setting is lined with ten tube TVs, and a large wide-screen beauty sits in the corner for all to appreciate. Fuel TV, extreme sports' answer to Fox Sports, plays above the bar while ESPN monopolizes the other screens. The sports-bar fare is nothing to get excited about, but it goes down well with Jesse's varied tap selection. Play darts, pool, shuffleboard, or old-school videogames while you wait for your jalapeño poppers. Enjoy $1.50 domestic drafts and $2 domestic bottles during happy hour Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. Or sign up for karaoke and Guitar Hero challenge on Fridays at 10 p.m. And — if you're really feeling extreme — ask for the obscure Satan Red, a Belgian beer as wicked and awesome as its namesake, Bill Parcells.
