In just over a month, the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival will be taking over Las Olas Boulevard--the date is April 19 at 7:30 pm, to be specific. With two liquor lounges, over 40 wine tables, and seventy plus attending restaurants it's slated to be quite the event.

Hopefully, you'll be there to check it out. But if not, don't fret, some retail outlets will be running free--yes, free--tastings leading up to the festival.

Las Olas Wine Cafe

The first couple days of the workweek are always the hardest. Unless, of course, you take advantage of the Las Olas Wine Cafe's pre-festival tasting events. Already in effect, the cafe is offering free tastings every Tuesday. Taking place weekly from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., the spot presents the festival's sponsor brands, such as Bonterra, Tommasi, Seghesio Arneis, Murhy Goode, and more. Find one you want to take home? The cafe will have all of the wines available for purchase on-site.

ABC Fine Wines and Spirits

Looking for an even cheaper version of happy hour? Every Friday night, ABC's Coral Springs (2693 University Drive) and Pembroke Pines (10798 Pines Blvd.) locations are featuring free in-store tastings to preview the festivals presenting brands: Bombay Sapphire, Apothic Wines, and Shellback Rums. Bombay is offered straight or with tonic. Shellback spiced and silver are available with or without coke. The tastings take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
