Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport isn't Las Olas Boulevard or Delray's Atlantic Avenue just yet, but at least there are a couple rays of culinary hopes shining through the clouds of pre-fab sandwiches, microwaved crud and muffins made from the by-products of coal smelting.
Earlier this week, Charlie reported that Mango Gangster Allen Susser is producing a line of real food items to go on sale at FLL prior to the holidays. Now comes word that Pasha's, the "fast casual" Middle Eastern eatery that's got something of a following in Miami, has opened an outlet in the airport (Terminal 1, Concourse B) as well.
It will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offer to-go
items as well as sit-down dining. Expect a variety of egg-based wraps
and omelets, along with lunch and dinner items like hummus, baba
ghanoush and falafel; soups and stews; meat, poultry and veggies
kebabs; salads and baked goods.
Real food at an airport. Who'd a thunk it?
