A menu of accessible modern American cuisine and décor modeled after the Prairie School movement of Frank Lloyd Wright mark the latest restaurant to set up shop in the Town Center mall in Boca Raton.
Pinon Grill (6000 Glades Road; 561-391-7770) makes its debut this Saturday in sprawling mall's Terrace section, offering a roster of moderately priced dishes that reads like a compendium of tried-and-true "New American" favorites.
What that means in your mouth is starters like Kobe beef sliders and chopped chicken salad; entrées like braised beef ravioli, pecan-crusted trout, and baby back ribs; and desserts like white chocolate bread pudding and peanut butter pie.
There's also an 80-bottle wine list, with some 30 wines by the glass, plus an "executive-style lounge." As for the rest of the space, it's 8,000 square feet of Americanesque design, featuring a recessed wood ceiling, bronzed pinon tree sculptures, paintings by "conceptual artist" Marcia Moore, a walnut slab "community table," and indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Pinon Grill is open for lunch and dinner daily and Sunday brunch.
