Multimedia company C&I Studios is known for putting a truly creative spin on things. Whether it's filming unique music videos or hosting mobile gore film night Splatter-Rama, they've got their own way of presenting culture.
The fourth annual Dialect art walk takes place Saturday at their Fort Lauderdale location, taking music and visual art to the next level. DJs will spin new sounds -- none of that mainstream crap, people -- and match them up with totally innovative artistic creations. And after the party, it's, well, the after-party at Vibe Las Olas, where Obscene and Adam Foster will spin the night away.
We sat down with Foster, who made it clear why we are definitely going to Dialect, and also shared with us two songs he matched as soundtracks with two of artist Steve Baum's paintings.

New Times: What can people expect from Dialect this year?
Adam Foster: Expect Dialect to move around a bit this year. I'm hoping to do Dialect events during art walk in Fort Lauderdale as well as in the Design District, and to make a return to the terrace at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale.
People can expect more live installations, a variety of great DJs, and more interactive pieces that make the crowd part of the show, similar to our Instagram exhibit we did last year that was created by the guests of the show.
How is this year different from last year?
Well for this first event, I'm thrilled to be partnering up with C&I Studios and Kelly Medlin of the Museums ATN group. C&I has an amazing space, and they are consistently bringing great events to the city. By sharing our resources and ideas, we were pretty easily able to put together, what I think will be, an amazing event.
What will you be doing?
For this show, we will have DJs Kent Lawlor, Esoteric, and Radio-Active's Mikey Ramirez and myself providing the music. There will be live art, an interactive swimwear photo shoot, body painting, and lots more. I don't want to give away too much. Plus drinks.
Vibe Las Olas is also sponsoring the event, and we will be holding the official after-party for Dialect, so everyone with a wrist band from Dialect will get free entry.
I am also the entertainment director for the Restaurant People (Vibe, Yolo, Tarpon Bend, S3) so we have a great Star Wars themed after party planned. Should be a fun night all around.
What is your favorite part of Dialect?
My favorite part of Dialect is just bringing different groups of people together to do something out of the ordinary and being able to catch up with old friends I don't get to see as often as I'd like to. Really just love seeing people expressing themselves, having fun, and doing their thing.
