This week's schedule is populated with wine tastings, beer dinners, and charitable culinary events (not the least of which is Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation Palm Beach featuring lots of local "food celebs"). After the jump, read more about Taste of the Nation and find other food and drink events this week in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Tonight:

Opening mingle at Assaggio del Forno -- Admission to this "opening mingle" at the (newish) Boca Raton Dennis Max restaurant includes one drink and a selection of appetizers. Tickets purchased online today are $15; tickets will not be sold at the door. The event is 6 to 8 p.m. at Assaggio del Forno

Tuesday
:

Cabernet Sauvignon Blend Tasting -- Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy will host a cabernet sauvignon blend tasting from 6 to 7 p.m. The event is $40 per person. Read more about it here

Pizza, popcorn, and movie night at McSorley's Beach Pub -- The Fort Lauderdale bar McSorley's Beach Pub will host movie nights every Tuesday in June. The event is 7 p.m. to close with $2 pizza slices and $1 popcorn and happy hour pricing on drinks. 

Wednesday:

Taste of the Nation Palm Beach -- Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation Palm Beach features local movers and shakers in the culinary community including chefs Zach Bell, Allen Susser, and Clay Conley. The event includes food and wine tastings from local restaurants like Dada, Pistache, Max's Harvest (the 2012 Best Of Broward/Palm Beach winner for Best Palm Beach County Restaurant), and 3800 Ocean. General admission is 7 to 9:30 p.m. and VIP is 6 to 9:30 p.m. The event is at Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. Tickets are $90 to $150 and are available online.  

Bier Dinner at Biergarten -- This month's beer dinner at Biergarten Boca Raton has an Irish theme with Irish brews teamed up with dishes like Irish short rib stew and bacon-rolled pork loin. The dinner is 6:30 p.m. and costs $35 per person plus tax and tip. Reserve a spot by calling 561-395-7462.

Sunday:

Anti-bullying event at DIG Restaurant -- DIG Restaurant in Delray Beach will host a dog-friendly anti-bullying event from 1 to 3 p.m. with leashed, well-behaved dogs welcome to accompany owners to the venue. The restaurant will team with Bullies Against Bullying for this event, which includes various pet-related activities and contests, plus food and drinks. The cost is $20 is advance and $30 at the door, which includes one drink and appetizers. Tickets available at bulliesagainstbullying.com

Sustainable Sunday Brunch at Max's Harvest -- Summer brunch at Max's Harvest includes a $15 unlimited interactive bloody mary bar and champagne cocktails. The dining begins at 11 a.m.
