The weekend might be over, but there are still plenty of weekday food and drink events in South Florida to keep you busy. Whether you're looking to check out the new kitchen at Funky Buddha, drink some fresh juice, or enjoy Taco Tuesday, there's something to do in Broward and Palm Beach counties this week.
Jugofresh Grand Opening
Cold-pressed juice brand Jugofresh will be opening at Boca Raton’s Whole Foods (1400 Glades Road, Suite110, Boca Raton) with a bang – and plenty of juice, of course. The first 100 customers will receive gift cards ranging from $12 to $500 and will also be premiering Lil’ Gardens, Big Future, a new green juice, for $5. Partial proceeds of the new juice will benefit Jugofresh’s foundation. Drink up, and do some good.
Burlock Coast Opens at the Ritz-Carlton
Brass Tap’s Taco Tuesday
Who says you have to wait until Cinco de Mayo to eat tacos? Brass Tap (624 SW 145th Terrace, Pembroke Pines; 950 Congress Ave., Boynton Beach; and 551 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale) doesn’t. For $9.99, you can eat all the tacos your heart desires. Visit BrassTapBeerBar.com.
Funky Buddha in Oakland Opens Kitchen
Funky Buddha Brewery (2621 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton) is now cooking up more than beer. The Craft Food Counter & Kitchen will officially open Wednesday. Menu items include griddled cheese, the Mighty Tatanka Burger, Nuking Futs, Blistered Peppers, Dope Beets, Funky Wings, and Brewer's Plate.
Casey Hughes at Craft Beer Cartel
Beer connoisseurs and just plain beer drinkers will have a chance to meet Coppertail Brewing brewmaster Casy Hughes at Craft Beer Cartel (557 SW 12th Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Attendees will not only have a chance to stock up on great beer but ask Hughes questions and advice. The event starts at 6 p.m. and is free.
Veterans Eat Free at Hard Rock
In honor of Veterans Day, veterans will be able to eat a free meal up to $10 at Seminole Classic Casino (1 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Participating restaurants include Flying Cow home of Bangin’ Burgers and Wicked Wings and EATstreets’ three venues: Mojoe, Slice, and SoyGood. Participants must show a valid military ID.
Food Truck Invasion at Wellington
There’s usually not much to look forward to in the second Thursday of every month. Allow Food Truck Invasion to be the exception. Taking place in Wellington Amphitheatre (12150 Forest Hill Blvd., Wellington) from 5 until 9 p.m., featured food trucks include Palate Party, Sweet Sensations, Grill Master Café, and Bite Gastrotruck. Visit FoodTruckInvasion.com.
