Win a Slot in the Krystal Burger-Eating Contest at Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle This Friday

Are you the champion burger eater in your group? Can you chow down on dozens of burgers at one sitting with the ease of a frat boy?  Do you study Man vs. Food like it's the answer to life itself? Have you dreamed of some day being in a competitive eating contest?

If you answered yes to the above questions, Clean Plate Charlie wants you to participate in the Krystal Burger Eating Contest at the Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle this Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m. You'll take your place among local celebrities OMG Mike and Webby from the Paul and Young Ron Show in a battle to win the coveted title of Burger Master.

Slider contestants will have a minute and a half to eat as many Krystal burgers as they can. You'll start with 20 burgers, but there's more where that came from. The contestant who consumes the most burgers will be declared the winner.

Think you got what it takes? Simply send an email stating how many drink tickets the $40 admission includes (hint: You can find the answer on our May 6 Clean Plate Charlie post), along with your name, address, phone number, and email to [email protected]. Feel free to also add any shameless self-promotion as to why you should be chosen for this momentous task.

Please make sure you're available to attend the contest this Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Riverwalk Hotel in Fort Lauderdale.

Deadline to enter is this Wednesday, May 11, at noon. A winner will be chosen at random and announced Wednesday afternoon. By the way, we'll even give you a ticket for a guest, so you'll have your own personal cheering section.

If you haven't gotten your tickets for the Burger Battle this Friday, time's running out. For $40, you'll be able to sample burgers from some of South Florida's best restaurants, chow down at the French Fry Bar and watch the slider-eating contest.

Funds raised will go toward supporting the Riverwalk Trust's goal of encouraging a vibrant riverside community.  For tickets or VIP tables, call 954-468-1541, ext. 201. Order online at
