World of Beer, known for its extensive brew offerings, recently opened its long-awaited Plantation location last week. The Plantation tavern’s database is one of the largest in the country, including more than 30,000 different beers in 68 styles from 47 states and 82 countries.

"There's a passionate craft beer community in South Florida, and this new location will be their mecca," said World of Beer CEO Paul Avery. “With our guests, it's all about inspiring them to discover something new."

You can do that in Plantation, where there will be 500 different bottles and 50 rotating taps.

Since opening its first location in Tampa, Florida, in 2007, World of Beer has grown to more than 75 locations in 22 states. What began as a neighborhood tavern to sample great craft beers and swap beer, for cofounders Scott Zepp and Matt LaFon, the concept is quickly becoming a craft cultural phenomenon celebrating the world of craft beers.

Unlike many earlier World of Beer outposts, the Plantation location will have "enhanced" machines that will be able to help the establishment take its brews "to the next level," says Avery.

The Plantation restaurant will exclusively house a stainless steel infusion tower that allows the tavern to infuse its beer with herbs, coffee, fruit, and other ingredients to create new and unique offerings. Additionally, their cask engine will give patrons the opportunity to try exclusive, limited availability beers created by local brewers.

Currently, World of Beer Plantation is working on a special release schedule with local breweries to promote the community’s most in-demand beers. Partners include Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park, Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Due South Brewing Co. in Boynton Beach, M.I.A Beer Company in Doral, Copperpoint Brewing Company in Boynton Beach, Wynwood Brewing Company in Miami, and J. Wakefield Brewing in Miami.

The 3,289-square-foot tavern (with a 746-square-foot patio) is also one of several in the state that now features an on-premise kitchen, offering customers the brand's own signature menu in place of the its old model of presenting take-out only options provided by neighboring establishments.

In 2015, World of Beer Coconut Creek became the first Florida World of Beer to debut the franchise's signature Tavern Fare menu, a variety of "elevated comfort food" made in-house. The Coconut Creek location, which opened in 2010, was selected following an extensive renovation and construction of a 1,000-square-foot kitchen.

Menu offerings at World of Beer Plantation pay daily homage to the wide selection of beer during both lunch and dinner, each dish a beer-pairing partner delivering modern twists on classic dishes. This includes giant Bavarian pretzels, Guinness bratwurst sliders, veggie hummus wraps, chili, beer-battered shrimp, chimichurri meatballs, chipotle barbecue chicken flatbread, and Belgian waffle s'mores.

Need the perfect beer with your food? Specially trained servers complete a two-week beer school and will be on hand to guide guests to the perfect food and beer combinations.

The new craft beer haven will also have a unique "hoppy hour" Monday through Friday that will offer select deals with $4 dollar draughts, $5 Tavern share bites, and $6 cocktails or wine. There will also be live music performances that feature local musicians on Friday and Saturday nights.
