Primo Hoagies, a chain of Italian-inspired specialty sandwiches with more than 95 locations nationwide including two in Florida, is opening its first Palm Beach County location in Boynton Beach this summer.
What makes a Primo hoagie better than your average sandwich? Well, according to the franchise slogan: "It's not just a hoagie. It's a primo."
Originally founded in Philadelphia 15 years ago, the original Center City South Philadelphia store still operates on Chestnut street. Part of what makes a Primo is the use of specialty Italian bread and Thumann brand meats and cheeses, which are the only ingredients allowed to craft the 50 or so authentic New England sandwiches. The menu features several sections, including a list of more than 20 specialties that offer meats like prosciutto, sopressata, capicola, and Genoa salami. There are also hot subs like meatball and chicken cutlet; healthy and meat-free sandwiches; as well as classic standard sandwiches.
The new Boynton Beach Primo Hoagies will open this month in the Winn-Dixie Riverwalk Plaza off Woolbright Road and Federal Highway. The 1,700-square-foot location, formerly a Quiznos, is owned by franchisee Greg Sutor. Sutor said he recently moved to South Florida from New Jersey, and decided to open the familiar New England-based franchise that is well-known for creating the perfect Italian hoagie.
Primo Hoagies is located at 1618 S. Federal Highway in Boynton Beach. For more information visit the Primo Hoagies website or find them on Facebook.
