5. Dream Wine Tasting at Joseph's Classic Market
Drinking for a good cause is always a good idea. If you agree (which you should, always) join Joseph's Classic Market in Boca Raton on Saturday, November 22, for a free wine sampling of Nicks Dream Wines, a new brand of wine started by locals to raise money for a good cause. Nick's "dream" is to help fund research for a cure for cystic fibrosis, the rare genetic disease that affects him, and more than 30,000 children and adults in the United States. Artist and West Palm Beach resident Lauri Capano -- alongside Nick's mother and a dedicated team of wine professionals -- have worked to create Nick's Dream wines with the goal to help raise awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This weekend, Joseph's Classic Market in Boca Raton is celebrating; they will be the first retail location to carry Nick's Dream Wines. A complimentary wine sampling will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Arrive hungry: Joseph's has plenty of food, including brick oven pizza, to sample alongside the drinks.
4. Comedy Show at Funky Buddha Brewery
Down for some brews and laughs? Then your first stop this weekend should be the Funky Buddha Brewery in Oakland Park. They'll be having a comedy show hosted by Alex Morizio and featuring local comedians, and headlined by Eric DaSilva. The Queens-born DaSilva is best known for performing twice at Comedy Central's South Beach Comedy Festival (2013 & 2014), and for his one-hour comedy album, Adorably Offensive. Raised in Miami, DaSilva began his comedy career while attending college in Miami. After winning several comedy competitions he moved to New York to continue his stand up career. See him live this Saturday, starting with the first show at 8 p.m., and a second show starting at 10:30 p.m. A $5 entry fee gets you in the door for both shows. A two-drink minimum applies.
3. Ritz Glitz Belle Epoque Burlesque Review
This weekend, Stache 1920s Drinking Den is pairing with Perrier-Jouet champagne to host a Ritz Glitz Belle Epoque Burlesque Review. On Saturday, November 22, the bar will be slinging some craft cocktails and champagne alongside its newest partners to join up for the monthly Burlesque revues. A new cocktail menu will be released for the evening's show. Starting at 8 p.m., prepare to feast your eyes on performers like Miss Aurora Natrix, Erika Moon, Angeliki Piliouras, and Angie Zeiderman. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, the Revolution Live Box Office and at the door day of.
2. Studio 54 Party at Il Bacio
This weekend, it's time to break out the bell bottoms, silk shirts, and platform sneakers. Dress up in your best 70s and 80s attire for a blast to the past at Il Bacio and Prime in Delray Beach. On Saturday, November 22, the club and restaurant will be hosting a special Studio 54-themed party, where they'll be awarding the best-dressed disco outfit-wearing patron with a $500 cash prize. Make reservations and you'll receive a complimentary champagne toast with entry to the establishment. While you're there, take advantage of the special food and Ketel One drink specials, going strong all night long.
1. Third Annual Brazilian Festival
It's happening this weekend: Brazilian Fest 2014. This Saturday, November 22, get free admission to the annual Brazilian-themed festival held at the Pompano Beach Community Park in Pompano Beach. For the third year in the row, Brazilians are planning to take over Pomapano Beach for a massive celebration of their homeland. And it's not surprising, seeing how Pompano and Deerfield Beach have large communities of the country's expats. This festival is as much an ambassador of the culture as it is a celebration of roots for Broward's large Brazilian contingent; it is an opportunity to explore the finest the large South American nation has to offer. All the Latin rhythm and excitement are coming together with music, food, drinks, and live entertainment. Two stages and 20 tons of audio and visual equipment, a kid's zone, and more than 100 vendors and exhibitors will be on hand to deliver food and drink, arts, and entertainment -- with a Brazilian beat. The festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
