Last year, Rocco Mangel elected to have a police officer escort him to and from his West Palm Beach and Boca Raton restaurants so that he could celebrate Cinco de Mayo with everyone.
He ended up in the hospital after suffering from heat exhaustion.
(The tequila dance can be physically taxing, and clearly dangerous when coupled with blazing hot South Florida temperatures and a massive intake of tequila.)
This year, Rocco has developed a plan that he hopes will end in better results.
We'll give you a hint: Rocco has referred to himself as a "glorified bus boy" -- and he's about to bring new meaning to the phrase.
That's right, kids -- Rocco is taking his party on the road with him, and this year he's riding in style: on a monster party bus.
Details have not yet been announced or finalized but Rocco estimates that 50-75 Rocco's Tacos extremists will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for an exclusive party on wheels, traveling to and from each of Rocco's South Florida locations (there are four now, including recently-opened Fort Lauderdale and recently-purchased Palm Beach Gardens, though PBG is unlikely to be ready by then -- Rocco is, in fact, leaving for Mexico next week to look at furniture).
If you know anything about Rocco, you know he likes to have a good time, but most importantly -- he likes for his guests to have a good time. He'll be offering unlimited food and drinks on his fully-loaded, DJ-spinning Cinco de Mayo party bus.
Stay tuned to Palm Beach radio stations 95.5 and 98.7 for official announcements and the chance to buy tickets, which should run you around $200-300.
