How the Other Half Rocks

There may be only one way to rock, but there's more than a few to party down with the Red Rocker, AKA Sammy Hagar. Be it fronting Van Halen, driving past 55, or getting his drink on with his own signature brand of tequila, this sports-car-loving, block-phrasing, blond-locked barrel of rocket fuel keeps the fire burnin'; when Sammy's in town, spring break never stops. This time, Hagar and his band, the Wabos, are joined by the Other Half, featuring Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony. It's like Van Halen without, well, Van Halen. (The brothers VH are probably busy at home in L.A. toiling with their Ferraris, denying rumors they'll be hitting the road with David Lee Roth). Hagar, though — he's a true road warrior, speed limits be damned. If his brand of hedonism (and tequila) is your thing, this'll be the par-tay of the year.

Sammy Hagar and the Wabos join the Other Half on Friday, June 16, at Sound Advice Amphitheatre, 601-7 Sansbury's Way, West Palm Beach. Tickets cost $10 to $50. Doors open at 3 p.m. Call 561-795-8883, or visit
