Dinner, drinks, brunch — and now lunch. To cater to the seasonal masses, Delray Beach's one-year-old Apeiro Kitchen & Bar will be introducing a new weekday lunch service beginning Thursday, September 24. The lunch menu will be served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Delray Marketplace restaurant and will feature many of Apeiro's signature takes on bold Mediterranean flavors delivered by chef and co-owner David Blonsky.

Although we love the idea of dining during the weekday at Apeiro, we're most excited about the prices. A special section of the Apeiro lunch menu has been designated as the 10 for $10, a list of dishes that are "priced to please," says Blonsky.

A total of 10 Apeiro favorites — some signature dishes from across the brunch and dinner menu — will be served in lunch-sized portions, all priced at $10 each. The offerings run the gamut from crispy eggplant or chicken pita with fried potatoes, to curry chicken salad, vegetable omelets, and salmon salad.

According to Apeiro co-owner Burt Rapoport, the 10 for $10 deals are a way to entice people to dine out away from their place of work.

"This is our version of a great lunch at a great deal," said Rapoport. "We expect it to be a hit with those who want a delicious lunch away from the office but who don’t want to blow their budget."

The menu also has a number of small plates and salads priced $8 to $12, many of which are gluten-free or vegetarian-friendly, and can be mixed-and-matched for a shareable meal. Options include classic and popular Apeiro spreads – hummus, eggplant caponata, pistachio yogurt, served with wood oven-baked pita; Moroccan spiced chicken wings; smashed beets with local ricotta and truffle-beet vinaigrette; and simple greens with carrot, tomato, cucumber, radish and herb-balsamic vinaigrette.

Flatbreads priced $10 to $12 are served fresh from the wood-burning oven, and include grilled shrimp with roasted garlic cream; forest mushroom with Parmesan, taleggio and truffle oil; spiced lamb with smoked mozzarella and grilled vegetable with mozzarella and basil pesto. Mainplates range from $12 to $14, and include a hearty rigatoni bolognese; a prime steak burger with smoked bacon sauce, or Apeiro’s prime rib gyro with tzatziki sauce, onion, tomato, and shredded Romaine lettuce.

And who can say "no" to dessert — especially priced as low as $4 a plate? That means you can end your meal with a scoop or two of house-made gelato in a variety of flavors, or even the signature bomboloni, an Italian donut you can "stuff" with a selection of homemade sauces.

Apeiro Kitchen & Bar is located at 14917 Lyons Rd., Delray Beach. Call 561-501-4443, or visit apeirorestaurants.com.
