From October to early May we get our produce delivered weekly through a co-op CSA program at Green Cay Farms in Boynton Beach (they may already be subscribed for the coming season, but you can contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org). But off season or for fill-ins we occasionally order from Delicious Organics in Miami. Believe it or not, they've recently resumed delivery all the way up to Jupiter in Palm Beach County, and they've also cut their minimum order to a measly $50, AND dispensed with the $5 surcharge for orders under $100. Not only do they have an excellent selection of local, organic vegetables, and free range and humanely raised meat -- but bakery goods, tea and coffee, just about anything a health nut could ask for. I don't know if the program saves on fuel in the long run, but it sure lowers MY gas costs.
Note: Bee Heaven Farm in Redland also offers a CSA program from November to March, but you have to pick up.
Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering South Florida with no paywalls.
