As the birds started singing, dozens of Pembroke Pines shoppers were lined up for the grand opening of the new Whole Foods Market in Pembroke Pines yesterday, March 28.
The Pines market, located at Cobblestone Plaza on Pines Boulevard, is the 11th Whole Foods to open in South Florida.
The market, which features organic and local produce, a salad bar, prepared foods, baked goods, and our favorite cheap wine, will also have a dedicated healthy-eating specialist on-site who will help steer you to the right foods (remind them that red wine is good for you).
Shoppers were treated to a buffet breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by a
bread-breaking ceremony, a marching band, and other goodies before it
was time to check out the store.
If you missed out on the
celebration, come down on Saturday for the "flash kitchen" from 10 a.m. to
3 p.m., featuring seafood cooking demos, a coffee tasting, and a cheese
sampling. Whole Foods Market Pembroke Pines is open seven days a week
from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
