Lost in the Trees is a seven-strong collective from North Carolina likely to nourish the mossy side of your trunk with its sumptuous, string-filled folk that occasionally borders on symphonic. Recently reissued on the discerning Anti- label, the group's All Alone in an Empty House finds a wider audience for band leader Ari Picker's emphatic vocals. Can Neil Young, Bon Iver, and Andrew Bird devotees understand the appeal of these world-weary tales of stunning beauty and effortless execution? Of course we do.

If such earnest Americana stylings come off as repressed, don't fear. Picker recently collaborated with Fullsteam Brewery in his home state to create a beer named after the band. And anyone who enables a good-time crowd to consume either music or beverages (or both) for pure enjoyment is worth at least a night of your time.
