While there once was a day in which people would stick it out with a company for their entire career, that rarely happens anymore.

For the most part we don't actually care when someone leaves a job.

Unless, of course, it's one -- or two -- of our favorite chefs.

Top Chef finalist and executive chef Lindsay Autry and pastry chef Sarah Sipe have left Delray Beach's Sundy House to move onto to greener -- or, at least, different pastures.

While Autry assured us her departure was amicable, we spoke to her about why she left and what she plans to do in the future.

"My intention with Sundy House was always short term, as I initially only committed to one season there," said Sutry. "However, I fell in love with the property and stayed over one year longer than anticipated. I truly believe that we were able to achieve great strides in bringing back some charm to such an important part of history in Palm Beach County, and I am proud of my team for helping me achieve that."

About 18 months ago Autry brought her polished Mediterranean and Southern-influenced cuisine to the historic property. While there she participated in numerous culinary events and achievements; an all-female dinner at the James Beard House, a position as resident chef at Swank Farms, a kitchen collaboration dinner with Jamie DeRosa at Tongue & Cheek, numerous wine dinners, and more.

"I have gained some great experiences while at Sundy House, including being able to cook at The James Beard House, and feel that is now time for me to move on and pursue other opportunities," said Autry. "I am still actively involved in the Palm Beach food scene and community and plan on staying here."

While Autry officially left the resort on December 8, today is Sipe's final day onboard.

"We both are very appreciative of our time there and wish them only the best as they move forward," said Autry.

For the record: we're going to miss them both.
