Quality ingredients and the area's long growing season are what allow OB-House to keep this summer seasonal favorite on the menu every day, undoctored by fancy ingredients such as avocado, shrimp, chicken, or an egg (though an egg sounds pretty good). The key here is thick: thick-cut bread from Gran Forno. Thick-cut, applewood-smoked bacon. A stack of leafy greens. And ripe, in-season tomatoes.

Old Fort Lauderdale Breakfast House debuted in August, conceived by owner Rodney Ely. "We want to be the go-to place for breakfast during nonconformist hours," he told Clean Plate Charlie upon opening. Located on Himmarshee Street, the restaurant serves breakfast and brunch until 3 p.m. daily.
