Dick Cami has plenty of big fish tales to tell, beginning with his Cami's Seashells chain of restaurants and Crabby Dick's in Key West. Then there are the Islamorada Fish Company and the Oar House in Davie, which were opened by, respectively, his sons Richie and John. And of course, there are the yarns Dick can tell about his legendary Peppermint Lounge, home of the twist, in New York City and Miami. But, of course, those tales are not piscine. The main thing is, now Dick and his sons are together at last in their new Grumpy Dick's Seafood Grill and Bar (801 S. University Dr., the Fountains Shoppes, Plantation, 954-452-1952). Like Dick's other success stories, Grumpy's is a family restaurant specializing in generous portions of fresh fish at deliciously affordable prices -- a dozen shucked-to-order oysters are $3.89; a combo of chargrilled shrimp, scallops, and catch of the day, with salad and rice, $12.99; outstanding homemade Key lime pie, $3.89. Bonus attractions include bountiful pasta dishes, a sushi bar, and the ever-festive "Grumpy Hour," which is as good a time as any to catch Murph the bartender shoot fire from his mouth. Dick Cami , it seems, still has a few more fish to fry.
