When it comes to Hollywood, what could have been won't be. And what was is again. Mark Soyka, who recently opened Brasserie Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale (and owns several restaurants in Miami-Dade), will not debut an eatery as scheduled in downtown Hollywood, despite incentives such as free rent and a $90,000 grant to defray opening costs. Well, why not slide those funds over to Sadie McBean and son Gavin? As the new proprietors of Ginger Bay (1908 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, 954-923-1230), the Caribbean restaurant that went in and out of business last year, I'm sure they'd be happy for the assistance. Let's just hope that this time around, Ginger Bay stays.
