The hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The deal: Draft beers $2.25 instead of $2.50, domestic beers $2.75 instead of $3.25, well liquors $3 instead of $3.75, wines $3.75 instead of $4.25.

The digs: Starlite Lounge, voted New Times' 2010 Best Hole in the Wall, is tucked away in

a nondescript shopping plaza off Federal Highway. This gives it a

speakeasy feel from the outside. But the inside couldn't be homier. All

the patrons look like regulars. This seems due to its location, which is

next to a laundromat and walking distance from numerous residences. Have

a beer, play some bar games, and do your laundry! Speaking of bar

games, Starlite has them all: a dartboard, two pool tables,

shuffleboard, countertop bar videogames, and a Wii hooked up to a large

flat screen, which is protected by a sheet of plexiglass that implies some heated

Wii Bowling matches.

The verdict: If you want a cozy bar where you can drink cheaply all day,

Starlite Lounge fits the bill. Even the decidedly '70s naugahyde barstools are comfortable enough to sit in for those nine happy hours, if

you're up for it. Starlite really is that place where everyone knows

your name and you know the bartender's. (Hi, Valerie!)
