Get ready for the 2011 Las Olas Wine and Food Festival sponsored by Tequila Herradura, Bombay Sapphire Gin and Premier Beverage Company, and benefiting the American Lung Association.

The multi-day event will provide guests with plenty to look forward to, such as a gourmet food truck round up, a cupcake battle, and plenty of wine.

Intimate wine dinners have limited space, and festival organizers cap ticket sales for the main event -- the Friday street festival -- at about 2200, so if you plan on attending, whip out the credit card soon!  (Or, keep reading Clean Plate Charlie -- we have three pairs of tickets that we'll be giving away, valued at $200 per pair.)

Here's a glimpse of what's to come:

Wednesday, April 27th and Thursday, April 28th

Wine and spirits makers from all over the country will pair up with select restaurants forunique pairing dinners.   For example, Williamette Valley Vineyards will be pairing wines on Wednesday at Publix Apron's Cooking School ($45) and on Thursday with a 5-course dinner at Johnny V's ($95), while Tequila Herraduro will be doing a tequila pairing dinner ($85) at YOLO. There are others. See here for more details.

Friday, April 29th

The Tequila Herradura VIP Reception in partnership with JM Lexus will run from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m and costs $225.00 per person. Attendees receive a wine glass and goodie bag. If you want to skip the VIP, the general admission Street Festival runs from 7:30 - 10 p.m and costs $100.00 per person. Sample bites from more than 60 of South Florida's finest dining destinations.  Be sure to stop by the New Times cupcake battle, where bakeries will be facing off for awards. Additionally, there will be varietals and experimentation with the newest and hottest grapes emerging onto the market. There will be over 45 tables to sample from with different wine labels and winery representatives among other vendors. Guests will also have access to the Bombay Sapphire Lounge which will be serving a variety of deluxe cocktails!
