As one event (Flavor Palm Beach) winds down this week, South Florida revelers are gearing up for Oktoberfest and other autumnal fun, much of which involves beer in one way or another. After the jump, find a roundup of food- and drink-related events this week in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Tuesday

Hop Week at Tequesta Brewing Co.

Hop heads, this week's for you: Tequesta Brewing Co. is celebrating the annual harvest of the prolific Northwestern hops crop. Five days of events kick off Tuesday with a special IPA brewed with Scottish ale yeast, ten hop additions, and eight different varieties. The week continues with the tapping of special casks and other brews each day through Saturday. Casks will be tapped daily at 3 p.m., though the special IPA will be available on tap by about noon Tuesday.

Beer pairing at BurgerFi in Coral Springs

The BurgerFi in Coral Springs (2716 N. University Dr.) will offer a special $14.97 beer pairing menu from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The five courses boast creative matches like a veggie burger served with Shipyard Pumpkinhead and kobe beef Texas chili cheese dogs paired with Shiner Oktoberfest. Dessert is a Left Hand Milk Stout float. There are no required start times or reservations for this casual pairing event. Representatives from Brown Distributing will be on hand to talk about the brews and pairing pointers.

Wednesday

Flavor Palm Beach wrap party

This is the last week for Flavor Palm Beach (the promo ends Sunday) and organizers are hosting a "grand finale" party from 6 to 8 p.m. at PB Catch (251 Sunrise Ave., Palm Beach) to mark the occasion. For $15 in advance or $20 at the door, you'll get to sample Flavor Palm Beach menu appetizers and a drink. The event is rain or shine.

Healthy happy hour

RA Sushi Bar Restaurant in Pembroke Pines is hosting a "healthy" happy hour (but don't worry, you can still get booze) from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The restaurant is serving small bites and hosting personal trainers from LA Fitness and an esthetician from Boca Tanning Club. There's no cost to attend, but RSVP to [email protected].

Farmers workshop

Are you a budding farmer or just a farmers' market enthusiast? The Farmers Market and Direct Marketing Workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Lauderdale Lakes Library Educational and Cultural Center will focus on how to grow a "local food system" and prepare foods from home to sell directly to consumers. The workshop, sponsored by the Transforming Our Community's Health initiative, is free to attend and open to the public. Get more information or RSVP by emailing [email protected].

Oktoberfest breweries night

No lederhosen required for Blind Monk's Oktoberfest event celebrating Munich breweries like Lowenbrau and Spaten. The event is Wednesday evening and there's no cost to attend, aside from the price of your beers.

Thursday

Tequila dinner

Drink your dinner at the Milagro tequila dinner Thursday night at Cantina Laredo in Hallandale Beach. The four-course meal includes a shrimp cocktail shooter, watermelon jicama salad, and other dishes, plus dessert. Get there at 7 p.m. for a cocktail hour. The dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $49.99. Call for a reservation; 954-457-7662.

SAIA at Sunset

SAIA hosts its monthly sunset dinner Thursday night, with a special four-course menu and signature cocktails (or wine or beer). The cost is $45 per person and the first course is served at 8 p.m. Guests should arrive by 7:45 p.m. Call 954-302-5252.
