Here's one way to help solve the invasive wild hog problem in South Florida: buy a mobile pig roast franchise.

Don't worry, it's classy; this is an upscale, white-linen pig roast. PigOut Catering is a Canada-based company known for popularizing mobile meat roasting with a classy and convenient catering service, and it is looking to expand into the U.S. market, starting with South Florida.

Founded by Alan and Anne Dickson, a pair of successful hospitality executives from the United Kingdom, PigOut launched in Ontario, Canada, in 2007. The business was meant to fill a void: create a unique catering experience using the highest-quality equipment to produce a full-service concept.

Let's face it, an entire pig turning on a spit is some medieval-level decadence that is sure to impress at any family gathering.

Today, the brand is quickly expanding across Canada as a successful franchise corporation, with several mobile units booking high-end events including weddings, private parties, corporate functions, and festivals.

"It’s the 'wow factor' that compels our clients to book us time and time again," says Anne. "We’re often the stars of the show – from preparation through presentation.”

This month, PigOut announced plans to begin franchising stateside, beginning with South Florida. The company has targeted Palm Beach and Broward counties to launch the first of several mobile catering units planned for the area.
According to Anne, PigOut’s state-of-the-art equipment is what sets this mobile catering company apart from traditional catering businesses. The oversized roaster, which spins whole pigs and other cuts of meat above a burning flame, offers a temperature-controlled oven, two burners, a walk-in refrigerator, and a prep and carving station.

"This is not a food truck," says Anne. "PigOut Catering is a full-service, white-linen experiential concept. Not only is everything cooked fresh in front of the customer, providing the best food possible, but with with us, it's also very much about the 'show.' We become a part of the entertainment wherever we go."

PigOut's menu items include the classic pig roast, poultry, beef, and seafood — as well as a wide range of sides and desserts. To maintain the upscale advantage, all food is sourced locally and must be additive-free.

"We see Florida as a good base to expand our business stateside," continues Anne. "The year-round warm temperatures and peoples' familiarity with pig- and meat-roasting make it the perfect fit for PigOut to grow."
