Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.
There are few things more delicious than the taste of crispy fried chicken. The crunch of the skin, the juiciness of the meat, and everlasting thought of bliss as the combination of both make their way into my belly. Thankfully, Fran's Chicken Haven in Boca Raton fills my gluttonous fat kid cravings.
Thanks to yesterday's participants for correctly guessing Fran's, the delightful dive that has been serving up traditional chicken and biscuits for more than 45 years.
Most visitors get their goodies to go, but you can post up at the counter to witness the frying festivities front and center. The joint also serves up seafood options if chicken isn't your thing. However, judging by the decor, you should be well-versed in your birds.
A 4-piece chicken meal, accompanied by biscuits, cole slaw, and fries, is under $11. All white meat is a buck extra.
