It's now been more than two years since music lovers gathered in the 'glades for the last Langerado, the annual fest-supreme that for six years strong served as a backyard blessing for the locals and an excuse to bum-rush the equator for the traveling hippies. For those who have been longing for Langerado, the inaugural Southern Monster Smash Music Festival may come as a sight for sore eyes.

Though the lineup may not be enough on its own to draw the dreadies down from the mountains, one can never underestimate the attractive power of our postcard-quality surroundings. Hippies love an excuse to hit the beach. For the locals, this should be a sure-fire day of fun. No Alligator Alley, fire ants, or tent setup required. Just a day of good music a couple of miles from the sandy shore.
